In-N-Out has started phasing out artificial ingredients from its menu, in line with Robert F. Kennedy Junior's proposal to ban them. In a statement, the beloved fast food company said it was now removing artificial colorings from its Signature Pink Lemonade and Strawberry shakes. The West Coast favorite, which boasts more than 418 restaurants, also revealed it was now starting to use ketchup made from real sugar rather than high fructose corn syrup. An In-N-Out spokeswoman confirmed the change, first reported by leading food service publication Nation's Restaurant News, to DailyMail.com. It isn't clear what dyes are used in the drinks, but this may include Red 40 — a dye made from petroleum that has been linked to hyperactivity in children. It is one of the eight dyes that RFK Jr said he planned to ban last month, adding that they were 'clearly associated with a grim inventory of diseases, including cancers, behavioral disease and neurological disease like ADHD'.
